Equinox Hawaii BIA Award
Officials from the Building Industry Association of Hawaii voted for the Equinox® Louvered Roof patio cover installed on the 6th floor of the Trump International Hotel™ Waikiki Beach Walk® as the winner of their 26th Annual BIA Renaissance Building & Remodeling Awards in the commercial category. The motorized louvered cover was installed on the terrace of the hotel’s bar and restaurant area to provide a great place to enjoy cocktails, a casual dinner with friends and family, or a romantic meal with a breathtaking view without the added concern about the weather.
“The property manager was clear about the expectations for the cover,” explained Brandon Weaver, owner of Equinox Hawaii. “The cover needed to provide a unique appearance suitable for their outdoor eating and service area and be low maintenance so they did not have to replace it every year like the wood and cloth covers they used in the past. Most importantly, the patio cover had to meet the high standards of the Trump brand.”
The flexibility of the Equinox® Louvered Roof system allowed the hotel to provide a stylish outdoor location for patrons to enjoy but also created a functional service area to help manage guest traffic without sacrificing service or overall customer experience. Brandon and his team added a touchscreen control panel to adjust the position of the patio cover’s 15 different bays independently so that visitors can enjoy the breathtaking views any time of day and in any weather.
