Fans of Disney/Pixar’s Academy Award-winning movie, Up, are excited to see the colorful and endearing house that serves as a centerpiece of the movie has been brought to life in vivid detail from the mailbox with Carl and Ellie’s names on it to the mural above the fireplace. Bangerter Homes built the home in Herriman, UT to try to capture the charm and warmth of the movie home. “The movie kind of captured the idea that a house is a place where you live and you grow up and you live your life,” said builder Blair Bangerter. “We’ve tried to take this movie and bring it to life in a real home.”
After studying the movie a number of times to capture all the details, a few liberties were taken to complete the home in a manner that accommodates modern day families. One of those liberties was the addition of an Equinox® Louvered Roof patio cover.
The builders wanted to provide a cover that was low maintenance, energy-efficient, and versatile so they contacted Rob Weaver of Sunshade Patios to help them out. “Bangerter Homes wanted to add a patio cover that could match the uniqueness of the Up house but also be functional and low maintenance….they wanted an Equinox® Louvered Roof patio cover,” said Rob. Equinox® is a solar-powered, motorized metal patio cover with louvers that adjust to any position within their 160 degree range of motion at the touch of a button. Equinox® will not rot, warp, crack or burn like wood and fabric patio covers and does not need the same amount of maintenance as wood or fabric covers require.
